Wnd and waves in shore looked great at 8:30 but OTC doesn't open until 10, and then I forgot my wetsuit so didn't sail until 10:30. Used RRD Freestyle wave 86l with Severne Blade 5.3m. Lovely board tosail, very comfortable, reasonably quick and a dream to turn, and sail was very light and powerful enough - great combination. Wind dropped at 11:30 then came back for anoher hour. Petri the 120kg flying finn used same sized sail! and I could not have taken a knot more.
Wind was steady offshore and throwing spray off wave crests so it was like sailing through rainbows in the sunshine. Water very smooth and great runs along waves.
